La fotografía digital sirve para mucho más que para almacenar imágenes en un ordenador o tomar instantáneas para imprimirlas en papel a fin de formar parte de un álbum que con el tiempo comenzará a amarillear. El Hospital de Manises lo acaba de demostrar. El centro sanitario ha implantado un nuevo sistema de diagnóstico basado en tomar una foto del área afectada por alguna alteración dermatológica, de la piel.
Al sistema que acaban de implantar le han dado el nombre de “teledermatología” y desde el Hospital de Manises aseguran que es un sistema “muy sencillo”.
Todo empieza cuando el paciente llega a su médico de cabecera, en atención primaria, mostrando una lesión en la piel. Ante esta constatación, el facultativo toma una fotografía y la envía “de forma segura al especialista”.
Llegados a este punto, el siguiente en intervenir será el dermatólogo, que en un tiempo “no superior a 48 horas, valora las imágenes y emite una respuesta asesorando al médico de atención primaria en el diagnóstico y tratamiento”, explican desde el centro sanitario.
